About Me

Albinota Nuredini is a Research Assistant at the Max van der Stoel Institute and a part-time Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Business and Economics, South East European University (SEEU).

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from SEEU and recently completed her master’s degree in Air Pollution Management and Control at the University of Birmingham with Distinction. Her master’s thesis investigated the correlation between air quality and mortality rates in Kicevo, North Macedonia, providing valuable insights into the health impacts of air pollution and informing strategies for its mitigation.

Albinota’s research interests lie in environmental issues, with a particular focus on air pollution in North Macedonia and the Western Balkans. She is dedicated to understanding pollution sources and developing sustainable, evidence-based solutions to improve air quality and public health outcomes in the region. She is a McCall MacBain Clean Air Fellow, which has strengthened her commitment to addressing air pollution challenges through innovative research and collaboration.

  • 11 November 2024 – Air Quality in Schools and Kindergartens, Skopje
    Attended an important event organized by UNDP North Macedonia with Swedish support, focusing on creating safer, greener learning environments for pupils and staff. Connected with experts dedicated to improving environmental health in schools.

  • 9 December 2024 – Graduation, University of Birmingham
    Graduated with distinction from the MSc in Air Pollution Management and Control program.

  • 17–20 March 2025 – Collaborative Project Visit, University of Birmingham
    Returned to the University of Birmingham as part of the Max van der Stoel Institute project “Bridging Science, Policy, and Community: Enhancing Air Quality Research, Advocacy and Capacity Building in North Macedonia.” Held insightful meetings with supervisors and mentors to advance my research paper.

  • 7 May 2025 – SEEU Conference: Economic Resilience and Sustainability, Tetovo
    Served on the organizing committee of the SEEU conference hosted by the Faculty of Business and Economics. Engaged in discussions on sustaining economic resilience in the modern era.

  • 15 May 2025 – Riinvest Institute Conference: Activating Economic Growth, Prishtina
    Participated in discussions focused on unlocking regional economic potential through innovation, investment, and policy reform.
