Three groups collaborating with university and industry partners.
The Distributed Systems & Data Science Group conducts research at the intersection of edge computing, federated learning, wireless mesh networks, and applied AI. Mainly, the group collaborates with leading European institutions including UPC BarcelonaTech, University of Birmingham, IST Lisbon, Offenburg University of Applied Sciences etc.
The Social Sciences Group focuses on inter-ethnic relations, peace and conflict studies, education policy, and post-conflict governance — building on Max van der Stoel's legacy as OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.
The Environment & Health Group investigates the relationship between environmental conditions and public health, with particular attention to air quality, climate adaptation, and well-being in Western Balkan urban centers.
