MVDSI Collaborator Accepted into a PhD Programme at the University of Fribourg

The Max van der Stoel Institute is happy to share that Fortesa Asani, a former member and actual collaborator of the Institute’s research staff, has been accepted into the PhD programme in Social Policy at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, within the Faculty of Humanities.

As part of her doctoral studies, Fortesa will explore the changing role of the family in the historical development of the welfare system in North Macedonia.

Using a qualitative case study approach, her research will look at how family structures and welfare provision have evolved in a post-socialist context, with a particular focus on North Macedonia.
