WP2 in Valencia: Building the Joint E-Campus
Last week, the members of Work Package 2 (WP2), the team responsible for developing and maintaining the ChallengeEU Joint E-Campus digital infrastructure, met in person for the second time. The meeting was organized and led by South East European University (SEEU) as WP2 lead, and hosted by Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV) at its Campus Turia.
Over two days of focused work, partners from across the alliance took stock of where WP2 stands and agreed on the way forward. WP2 Lead (Prof. Mennan Selimi) and task leads (Tiago Romao, Samir Shabani, Dr. Niklas Brinkfeldt and Hamit Kamberi) opened the discussions by presenting the status of their activities, from LMS integration and the shared Course Catalogue to the Impact Lab platform. The group also looked at the dependencies with other work packages and how to address them together. Considerable attention went to eduGAIN integration, which will let students and staff use Joint E-Campus services with their home-institution credentials, and partners agreed on the next steps for its rollout.
The team also discussed WP2's contribution to the project's Midterm Report, aiming for an accurate picture of what has been achieved so far and the challenges still ahead. Building on this, partners agreed on the structure, responsibilities, and timeline for D2.2, the Digital Infrastructure Progress Review Report, which is planned for completion by the end of 2026.
Meeting face to face made it possible to work through open questions quickly and strengthen collaboration across the alliance. The decisions taken in Valencia will guide WP2's work in the coming months and support the other work packages that rely on the Joint E-Campus.
Many thanks to our colleagues at Universidad Europea de Valencia for their warm hospitality, and to all WP2 members for their commitment and constructive contributions.
