Media Literacy and Disinformation Research Cluster team from SEEU’s Max van der Stoel Institute (MVDSI) were invited to participate in a significant event held on October 8th at Europe House Tetovo, in collaboration with the Czech Embassy. This event marked the beginning of a series dedicated to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the European Union’s largest enlargement.

The event focused on a debate about the EU enlargement process, with a particular emphasis on the journey of the Czech Republic towards EU membership. His Excellency Jaroslav Ludva, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to North Macedonia, shared his country’s experiences over the years of integration into the EU. The discussion led to an engaging conversation about the challenges and opportunities that come with EU expansion.

This event marks the start of a series of debates and exhibitions, with future sessions focusing on the paths of Slovenia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, and Slovakia towards EU membership. MVDSI is proud to contribute to these important conversations, which align closely with its research focus on disinformation and media literacy in the context of European integration.
