MVDSI Team Delivers Key Findings at WBF Regional Conference
On October 4th, 2024, the Faculty of Contemporary Social Sciences at South East European University (SEEU) successfully hosted a regional conference titled “Exploring Dimensions of Public Management, Policy, and Administration Across Diverse Sectors.” The event, financed by the Western Balkans Fund, brought together leading experts, policymakers, and public administration representatives from North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference addressed key topics such as regional collaboration, governance challenges, and innovations in the public sector. Distinguished participants from academia and the policymaking sphere engaged in insightful discussions about the challenges of public management and policy across diverse sectors.
A research team from SEEU’s Max van der Stoel Institute (MVDSI), led by its Director Prof. Veli Kreci, played a key role in the conference, with Prof. Kreci delivering a country report presentation on governance and public administration. Moreover, two significant research contributions from SEEU’s Max van der Stoel Institute (MVDSI) were presented at the conference. Albulena Halili presented the article “The Role of Public Administration in Countering Disinformation and Enhancing Regional Stability in the Western Balkans,” co-authored with Edlira Palloshi Disha. Additionally, Fortesa Asani presented the research article “Citizen Engagement and Participatory Governance: The Role of Social Movements in Municipal-Citizen Collaboration, with a focus on the case of North Macedonia,” co-authored with Lejla Ademi.
This productive exchange of ideas highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration and paved the way for continued cooperation aimed at addressing common governance challenges and driving public sector innovation in the Western Balkans.
