Visit of Prof. Axel Sikora at SEEU and Max van der Stoel Institute
Today, South East European University (SEEU) and the Max van der Stoel Institute had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Axel Sikora, a distinguished professor and head of the Institute of Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics (ivESK) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Offenburg – HSO).
During his visit, Prof. Sikora gave an engaging and insightful talk, introducing the work of his research group and presenting ongoing projects at ivESK. He spoke about embedded systems and the design of wireless communication protocols, with a particular focus on LoRaWAN technology and its practical applications across various industries. Examples included mobile smoke detectors, animal tracking systems, and even use cases in the aerospace sector.
SEEU and HSO are both proud partners in the ChallengeEU university alliance, and today’s visit provided an excellent opportunity to explore ways to deepen collaboration—especially in research areas that align with both institutions’ strategic priorities.
We thank Prof. Sikora for his visit and inspiring discussion, and we look forward to future joint initiatives between our universities.
