Within the framework of the BRIDGE Project, from 25-27 October, at South East European University a conference with the main topic: “Sharing good practices of academic integrity for a better business and community” was held.

Participants in this meeting were representatives from partner universities such as: Uppsala University-Sweden, Mendel University-Czech Republic, Kherson National Technical University-Ukraine, and Lithuanian Center for Social Research-Lithuania and from the Ombudsman Office of the for Academic Ethics and Procedure of the Republic of Lithuania.

The conference was declared open by the Director of the “Max van der Stoel” Institute, Prof. Dr. Veli Kreci, who informed the attendees of all the activities that will take place during the three days (October 25, 26 and 27), as long as the conference lasts.

The project participants were welcomed by the Pro-rector for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Besa Arifi.

The conference took place in four sessions, where the main speaker was Prof. Dr. Veland Ramadani, with the topic “Good and bad examples of academic integrity”, while topics such as: Addressing academic integrity issues in North Macedonia and the region (presented by Prof. Dr. Veronika Kareva); How to avoid student plagiarism in the digital age: ethical aspects (presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Pajaziti); Research integrity and business innovation (presented by Prof. Dr. Gadaf Rexhepi); Integrity and business management (presented by Zharko Trajkov).

Within the framework of the conference, the workshop led by Sonja Bjelobaba and Prof. Dr. Veli Kreci, regarding the ways of providing assistance to educational institutions to promote academic integrity and research integrity, while the session on integrity in business was led by Prof. Hajrulla Hajrullahu and Sandra Kruteliene, as well as the session on promoting integrity in the quality of participants in projects through “gamified educational materials” cases, were led by Julija Umbrasaite and Birutė Liekė.

On the second and the third day, the Learning, Teaching and Training was held for master and doctoral students and supervisors, attended by students and staff from the South East European University and other universities from the region.
